Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use Camera Controller and Teams/Zoom at the same time?
Yes, but you need to enable Windows shared camera mode first. In Camera Controller, click Settings, then click the Windows Settings button. Select your camera, go to Advanced camera options, and turn on "Allow multiple apps to use camera at the same time". You only need to do this once per camera. This requires Windows 11 version 24H2 or later.
Which cameras are supported?
Camera Controller works with most USB cameras that support the UVC (USB Video Class) standard. This includes built-in laptop webcams from Lenovo, Dell, HP, and Asus, as well as external USB cameras from Logitech, Microsoft, Poly, AVer, and others. Motorized PTZ cameras like the Logitech Rally and PTZ Pro 2 are fully supported with pan/tilt/zoom and presets.
Why don't some controls work with my camera?
Each camera model supports a different set of controls. Camera Controller shows all standard UVC properties, but your camera's hardware determines which ones are actually available. Controls that your camera doesn't support will appear grayed out or have no effect.
Does it work with virtual cameras (OBS, Snap Camera)?
Camera Controller adjusts the physical camera hardware. Virtual cameras are software layers that don't expose hardware controls. You can use both — Camera Controller to adjust your physical camera, then a virtual camera on top for effects — but Camera Controller's controls won't affect the virtual camera itself.
How does the free trial work?
You can download and use every feature for free. After 10 minutes, the camera resets to its default settings (widest zoom, centered position). Restart the app for another 10 minutes, or purchase the full version for $9.99 to remove the time limit permanently.
I purchased the app but it still shows as trial
Make sure you're signed into the Microsoft Store with the same Microsoft account you used to purchase. If the issue persists, try restarting the app. The Store license check runs at startup.
Can I use my purchase on multiple PCs?
Yes. Your purchase is tied to your Microsoft account, not a specific PC. Install the app on any Windows 11 PC and sign in with the same account.
